Advanced Concrete Sawing provided specialized concrete cutting services in support of the redevelopment of the former Thomson Reuters campus in Eagan, Minnesota. The project involved demolition and site preparation activities across one of the Twin Cities’ largest corporate campuses, helping prepare the property for its transformation into a mixed-use development.
A major component of the project involved the demolition of the campus’s 6 story office complex. Working alongside the contractor, ACS performed precision concrete cutting operations required to facilitate the removal of a six-story post-tensioned concrete structure while protecting adjacent facilities and maintaining critical project schedules.
The demolition required an exceptional level of planning and execution. Sections of the structure were saw-cut and lifted away by crane as part of a carefully sequenced top-down demolition process. These operations were performed immediately adjacent to a live data center that remained operational throughout construction, requiring precise cuts and controlled removals to protect critical infrastructure.
ACS also supported the preservation of Building E, a structure designated for future reuse. The final 60 feet of the existing building was precisely isolated through strategic saw-cutting operations, allowing demolition activities to proceed while protecting the adjacent structure.
The project demonstrated ACS’s ability to perform complex concrete cutting operations in high-risk environments where precision, safety, and coordination are critical to project success.
