10th Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation

Advanced Concrete Sawing provided specialized concrete cutting services as part of the rehabilitation of the historic 10th Avenue Bridge in Minneapolis. Originally constructed in 1929,this iconic reinforced concrete arch bridge spans the Mississippi River and serves as an important transportation link between downtown Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota.

Working alongside the project’s construction team, ACS performed a wide range of concrete cutting operations to facilitate structural repairs, concrete replacement, and bridge improvements. The project required careful coordination and precise execution while working on an active bridge structure and within the challenging access conditions common to major river crossings.

Over the course of the project, ACS completed more than 13,469 linear feet of flat sawing, 4,400 linear feet of curb cutting, 1,900 linear feet of wall sawing, and 509 linear feet of retaining wall sawing. In addition, our crews drilled1,139 core holes to support utility installations, structural modifications, and rehabilitation work throughout the project.

The scale and diversity of the cutting operations made ACS an integral part of the rehabilitation effort, helping prepare the structure for repairs and improvements designed to extend the service life of this historic bridge for decades to come.
