Anchor Paper Facility Improvements

Not every project requires large-scale demolition or major infrastructure work. Sometimes the most effective solutions come from understanding a customer’s problem and developing a practical way to solve it.

At Anchor Paper’s St. Paul facility, semi-trucks and dock vehicles were required to back into a loading area with limited visibility. Standard bollards had repeatedly failed to protect a critical structural column located near the loading docks, creating an ongoing risk of damage to the building.

ACS was contacted to help develop a permanent solution. After evaluating the site, we identified challenges including existing structural footings and underground plumbing that limited the placement of traditional protection systems. Working around these obstacles, ACS designed, fabricated, and installed a custom bollard protection system specifically tailored to the facility’s needs.

The completed system provided enhanced protection for the structural column while preserving the existing underground infrastructure. By combining field experience, problem-solving, and construction expertise, ACS delivered a practical solution that helped improve safety and protect a critical part of the facility.
